For the past week, I have been waking up at 4am or 4:30am every day. I don't get up immediately, I stay under the covers, with my 2 cats, hoping sleep returns. But after 30 minutes of slumber eluding me, I get up.
I have no problem falling asleep at night. I have meds I take to help me sleep, but staying asleep is the problem. I guess I should be happy that I am getting 5-6 hours of sleep. It could be worse. I go to bed about 10:30 or I watch a bit of Perry Mason, I fall asleep quickly. At least I am not waking up at 2 and being awake for the day.
This morning I did dishes at 4:30am. Checked email. Read FB messages. Did a little online window shopping. Fed the cats. Ground up some Chokecherry coffee beans. Made myself breakfast and coffee. Getting up early can make for a long day. But knowing that I wake up at around 4, I don't go to bed any earlier than 9:30, I am afraid I will be waking up at 3!
Just my luck, when I have to fill in on the morning show next week on COOL, when I need to be up for a 5am shift, I will probably sleep really good and need my alarm to wake up. Oh well.
Sounds like a nice morning, relaxed with coffee! Hope you can settle into a longer sleep cycle. Daylight savings time can’t helping
