It is my birthday week, Saturday is my birthday, so I have declared this week my birthday week.
When I was little my mom would make me a birthday cake and I would get to have a few friends over for a party. As I got older I still got a cool cake, but instead it was a family dinner. When you hit 21, you go out with friends...dinner and drinks...no cake. That continues for most of your 20s and 30s.
But now, birthdays are more simple. Oh, I still want cake, chocolate! Either a chocolate layer cake or chocolate cupcakes. I do need birthday cake...you are never too old for birthday cake. But I don't need a party. I want a nice meal...homemade is just fine. And cake! Gotta have the cake. And a present or 2, I want fruit, Moscato wine-Cupcake D'asti Moscato and anything Kansas City Chiefs.
Since the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots are huge...if I have any friends that win a jackpot...I have a bigger gift list. I would like a tropical vacation...Kauai is fine, Tahiti would be nice. I would like a Indian Scout Sixty motorcycle. I would like new flooring in my house. I would like a ProForm Carbon E7 elliptical machine. A $500 gift card to Scheels or Dicks Sporting Goods for running shoes and attire, I do plan to jog this summer...slow...but I will jog. I want a long duster Pendleton coat from Kraffs Clothing. I want some stock.....Disney, Coca Cola, Heineken, Hallmark and Verizon....100 shares of any o those would be great. Of course a card with a really nice cashiers check would be just fine too.
But given everything going on with my health...I really just want to be healthy. I want to wake up without pain. I want to be able to move without pain. I want to be declared cancer free again. I want to cut down all my prescription meds. I want to be able to sleep without medications. I want my hair to come back silver and curly again. I am not asking for a lot.
Yes...it's my birthday week. And yes I still want fruit and birthday cake. Chocolate.
