New Side Effects are striking me

I am thankful that I had a good Thanksgiving. The food was delicious. The leftovers were wonderful. But now it is just a good memory.

Yesterday my mouth started hurting. It is a weird pain. It feels like needles, but not a numbing feeling, it is a painful needles feeling with burning too. I feel like the inside of my mouth is swollen. Drinking coffee is a struggle, but I have to have my 2 cups.

I know that mouth sores and mouth pain is a side effect. I was googling 'chemo mouth pain' to find out more information. From what I read, it sounds like I will have this new side effect until I finish chemotherapy. It goes away 2 to 3 weeks after chemo ends. My last chemo is in February so I will deal with this for a couple months.

On a positive note, I like protein shakes, I will be drinking them a lot. Non spicy foods are recommended along with soft foods like yogurt. I like yogurt too.

I know I can ask my oncologist for meds to help with this new side effect, but I am already on so many different meds. I will just tough it out for now.

But now it is time to fire up my Nutri Bullet blender and make a protein shake. I will get through this. I keep going forward, God is with me, I will beat this cancer again.
